Healthy is the New Sexy!

Being healthy is not only good, it means being in better shape, feeling better about yourself. That means a better attitude and confidence. And all of that that is SEXY. So, yes: Healthy is the new sexy!

There are many programs out there to help you get in better shape. Many good dieting and fitness programs. And many coaches committed to be there for you.

Me… I am relatively healthy. And I have been in fantastic shape and also totally out of shape – decades of work behind a desk, 2 pregnancies and lack of time to take better care of yourself will do that to you. And, an overall lack of energy at the end of the day, when you felt you stretched yourself again in so many directions that you are about to burst and the only thing you dream of is a glass of wine and a quiet evening on the couch.

So: no, the marathon type of challenges have not been my cup of tea so far. Neither are the 60 day – 90 days challenges. Because I have a life I am pretty much fine with and I am not looking forward to turning everything upside down. I am willing and ready to make some changes and put in some effort. But not dramatically change everything about my life.

So, from all those many great programs out there, Forever C9 is the one that fits me. There are many things I love about the Forever C9 program. One of the fantastic things about it it’s that it is NINE (9) DAYS only.

We can all commit and give it our honest best effort for 9 days, right?
Longer than that in nowadays is hard to keep a strong commitment – kids, work, family emergencies, friends in need of support, celebrations, etc. Life happens and YOU are part of it. YOU must embrace it and ride the wave!

This is why I believe it is much easier to make a 9 DAYS commitment to put yourself first only and prioritize your needs.

C9 contains a unique nine day dietary supplement regime designed to transform your diet and fitness habits.

Designed to kick-start weight loss and cleanse your body, the C9 Program provides the perfect starting point for transforming your diet and fitness habits.

And you know what? If I can, then you can.

Yes, YOU CAN lose weight. YOU CAN look better and feel better than ever before and YOU CAN make a permanent change for the better.

And after the 9 days, the better you will keep moving on – looking better and feeling so much better with a well accomplished first step!

  • Real results in 9 days
  • Simple program
  • Nutritionally balanced giving your body what it needs
  • Easy effective cleansing program
  • Look and feel better
  • Feel more energised
  • Establish life long habits that can help you achieve lasting weight management

And, if that was not enough, it comes with a coach acting more as a buddy than the sports fanatic that will race your arse across the sports field until it will make you regret the day you decided to start the program.

Further more, you can share this experience with others, develop new friendships bonded by a shared experience and a shared goal.

It is all within your reach and it takes only 9 days out of your busy life. YOU CAN DO IT.

You can get in better shape and improve your health. Because, remember: Healthy is the New Sexy!

If you are interested to learn more about this fantastic program or you know someone who could benefit from it, let me know.

Reflections on death aftermath

My grandmother just passed away not long ago.

I was dreading the impact of her death and imagined I will be devastated when it will eventually happen.

I used to spend a big part of my vacations at her place. So, when it happened, despite being something we expected for a while, it still left me totally numb. As if suddenly I was unable to formulate some sort of a more violent type of emotion.

One thing though that I came to realize is what a big bullshit it is when people say that when someone is gone they are still present in some way.

Death means that someone stopped existing. And not only that someone but an entire universe is collapsed/ stopped existing with them.

There is this utter empty space they leave behind and all the severed connections. Lots of suspended thoughts and gestures and steps towards the emptiness that used to be a filled, complete universe.

And this total numbness. A whole lots of NOTHING.

Why I love the C9 program

C9 means 9 days of clean living; it is the way to reboot your metabolism and learn how you can build healthy habits for better living and improved health and physical stamina while at the same time staying true to who you are.

What I used to hate about the traditional diets is how restrictive they are. And how you actually count days and hours until you end it so you can dive back into the fridge and stuff yourself with the foods you craved and dreamed of all those long days while you were on a diet – or better said, while you were punishing yourself.

I truly believe that with self-flagellation (jumping in the other extreme of highly intensive physical exercising) or by inflicting emotional pain by very restrictive diets one cannot reach much of success. And by success I mean long term and sustainable results. Not the immediate drop in kg as much as what happens to your body and your mind once the draconian program ended and you are left to fend for yourself.

C9 provides you a frame in which you can make your own program, tailored to your life style and preferences, and to your personal goals.

For example, in some families breakfast together is important family time, while for others dinner is the most important meal of the day. While following the program guidelines and staying within the lines, you can make your own eating plan to fit your priorities. And you can actually enjoy the entire process rather than starve yourself and feel dinner

Here is one of the family dinners I was mentioning from one of my C9’ers. Healthy and delicious dinner she shared with her family.

lazy dinnerAnd then you have others who either don’t want the burden of elaborate cooking or are too tired after a full day at work. Not to worry, following the guidelines of the program, you can still feed yourself healthy without having to pretend being a Michelin star chef.

Eating right doesn’t have to be a very painful process.

C9 gives you the tools to continue: you learned that a little extra exercising can go a long way. Your metabolism is working well. You rediscovered the pleasure or simple and healthy meals.

Best of all, you don’t have to go through it all on your own, as a shameful secret you carry around hoping no one will notice. Your Forever Living consultant will be by your side every step of the way. Not to yell or scold or say “I told you so”. But to make sure you are adapting the C9 program to your personal needs and personal goals. To remind you to drink sufficient water – it happens to the best of us 🙂 To answer your questions and share from experiences – own and others that were coached. To encourage you and provide emotional support when needed.

And if you do this together with other fellow C9-ers, close friends or complete strangers, the entire experience hits a whole new level of bonding and camaraderie. Because this is not a competition. It is a common effort.

I just completed my C9 program together with a small group I coached through. We shared laughs and we shared moments and experiences that brought us closer. The immediate results in average for the group: 4 cm less in the waist/ 3 to 4 kg less in weight.

Our skin looks better – it is glowing! And we are full of energy!

One of the girls who was having troubles with gastritis has not had any more episodes since DAY 2 of the program.

We have conquered back our wardrobe! Dug out dresses we liked so much but couldn’t zip up in a long while.

All this achieved in 9 days!

But, what is more important: that we understood that this is only the beginning of a better us. This program has helped us transform into better versions of ourselves, leaner but also more committed as ever to continue building our healthy habits: eat right, exercise, pay attention to our health.

Here is what one of my C9 group members (35 year old girl) had to say:

“I recommend the C9 because it is very good introduction to healthy lifestyle and habits. My favourite products are Aloe Gel, Shake, Garcinia and Therm tablets. I feel great! Proud of what I achieved already and ready to continue!”

The Forever C9 program helps people feel better in their own skin and learn how to take better care of themselves with love. Too many are unhappy with themselves and punish themselves with crazy diets or just have low self-esteem. C9 helps people love themselves, accept themselves and build healthier habits for a better life. With care and patience.

This is me during C9 (Day6): a better me.

An S size me!

Full of energy so much that I could participate a 3 h Zumba marathon. Exercising can and should be fun. Some prefer the gym while others do bicycling or jogging. I Zumba. I am not professional; you can easily imagine my Zumba dancing by drawing a parallel with Phoebe’s running (reference from Friends TV series). But that is not the point. The point is to do what you love. Do it with confidence and enjoying every moment of it.

The transformed me. Feeling much better in my own skin.

The program helped me and I believe it can help you, too.

And this is why I promise you that C9 is one of the best decisions you can make if you want to change something. With love and enjoying the process under the caring guidance of a Forever C9 coach.

You know those nights? They’re the nights that become day. Full of dancing and howling at the moon. And there’s some kind of magic in those nights. They’re the nights that remind us what it means to connect. The nights that teach us how to leave everything behind. And live in the moment. They’re the nights that memories are made of. Yeah, you know those nights.” – wisdom words from famous alcohol brand’s latest commercial.

Yeah, we all know those nights. But what we also know are the mornings after.

And oh boy… some of them outplay the Magic of the previous night big time and remind me I am no longer 18.

I used to be the soul of the party. I used to dance till the morning, have one or several too many drinks and have a blast. Then shrug it all off after only couple of hours of sleep and bounce through the rest of the day. Yes – bounce. Now it’s much closer to a crawling motion…

Don’t get me wrong – while I enjoyed the occasional blast together with my peeps, I did not make it a regular habit. However, for me the ultimate warrior story is not about how memorable (though that was not always an option) were those party nights… it is about how I survived through the next day and what I tried to quicken the recovery. It doesn’t take long to find a list of hangover remedies, in some case legends. I’ve tried most of them.

Keep hydrated while partying. I even heard about drinking one glass of water for each glass of alcoholic beverage; my standing record – 2 glasses, then I usually loose track. But whenever I was still able to count my fingers, I tried to make sure I am having a last glass of water before succumbing to sleep – it’s a fact that alcohol dehydrates and drinking water is the least you can do to be kind to yourself.

Never drink on an empty stomach. Since we party with friends, it is usually combined with dinner or loads of starters, so drinking on empty stomach wasn’t really my thing. Probably without the food, my next morning hangover would have been even much worse. Food helps slow the absorption of alcohol, and the longer it takes the alcohol to reach your blood stream, the longer it is until you become intoxicated.

Natural Morning remedies. From all the different natural remedies that I tried by myself during my wild youth, somehow the most successful were still the morning after remedies. One of all-time favorites back in Romania is drinking the juice of pickled cabbage. The salty-sour drink is reach in vitamins C and B 12 and it helps the body to re-hydrate much quicker and get much needed minerals such as Magnesium or Potassium. Many of my conationals swear by it. Drink and live by it.

solanka03My version of the greasy food I went for when it was possible is a big portion of Solanka – fantastic for a weakened body in needs of a quick source of energy that helps with fighting the nausea. This thick Slavic soup has it all – olives, pickled stuff, several types of meat, potatoes, lemon and whatever else makes a good solanka according to the chef.

They say sweat it off. I say shag it off! It does have the same effects and it is a much more pleasurable way to power through, all while not even having to leave the comforts of your bed. And it can be the perfect continuation of the previous night’s endeavors, provided you are waking up in circumstances to your liking rather than to discover you would rather sweat it off by making a quick exit.

You know how there is this famous question that celebrities get to answer: What would you tell to your younger self? I am going to dig deeper there, given that I am raising two gorgeous and smart girls of my own.

But for now, this is me sharing with you what I would tell to my younger self, bent over with a splitting headache is:

  • Stay hydrated
  • Have fun as much as you can because responsibilities will never disappear
  • You are doing a fantastic job at picking good friends to share both wild celebrations and tough goings
  • Drink Aloe Vera – before you start partying and in the morning after you wake up. Aloe Vera gel is a natural, safe, and by far the most efficient method for getting rid of your hangovers.

You don’t have to believe me – google it. It’s the best known secret there is:

Aloe gel has the ability to re-hydrate the body, tackling the first problem of headaches, raging thirst and light sensitivity. It also detoxes the body so it helps it cope with the chemicals reducing depression. It stabilizes blood sugar levels and so it aids the elimination of alcohol more easily from the body relieving tiredness. It completely calms the stomach relieving nausea.

All you need is half a cup of the God’s Nectar before you head into the eye of the storm and another round when you wake up. The trick is to find the real deal: the purest gel there is, the next best thing to carrying around an Aloe potted plant to suck on between the shots.

Keep this in mind since the beach parties and summer festivals season is about to start right after you wake up from the mid-summer celebration that will last for days and nights in a row.

Here’s to a fantastic summer! I know I will take full advantage of it. Will you?

My Travel Tips to staying fabulous from the inside

So, while we covered the necessities of basic travel bag content in the previous articles, there is another critical step in avoiding a holiday abroad unforgettable for the wrong reasons: a visit to the doctor to find out what vaccines you may need depending on your desired destination.iStock-000017522773Small

Even more important is to do this with sufficient time in advance rather than right before hopping on the plane, because most vaccines take up to 2 weeks to start working. Also, some may require repeat shots, such as the anti-rabies or the anti-hepatitis A ones.

Keep your urge of going wild for the adrenaline inducing activities you can join while on the road rather than for the hospital induced experiences you may have to live through if you chose to live life on the edge by not vaccinating before traveling.

Also, it is very good to keep in mind that only a part of the possible diseases which you could end up with can be prevented by vaccination. Should you have any long term or chronic illnesses you better discuss it with your doctor and prepare any needed medication you may need to carry with you.

When traveling overseas, the more exotic the place, the higher the probability that the water quality and food hygiene standards are very different than back home. Add to that a variety of local ingredients your body hasn’t been exposed to previously. So no matter how careful you are with your personal hygiene and how often you wash your hands, you will most probably end up enjoying episodes of the unpleasant gastroenterological troubles, some mild but others pretty aggressive.

In order to stay on top of it, many seasoned tourists will carry upon them some sort of preventive medication at all time – something along the lines of Smecta or Loperamids. Sometimes even some type of antibiotics or medicine against bacterial infections, too.

However, while this may be helping as a quick fix, there are several drawbacks from where I stand:

It is a medicine and this may not get along well with the alcohol you may be consuming while on vacation, testing unnecessarily the patience and strength of your liver.

They may have limited effect: during our trip to Indonesia couple of months back, my significant other insisted on not using the natural remedies I had in my bag. Which meant that few days into our trip he ended up taking his tablets 3 times a day. And had to know his surroundings at all times – meaning where the nearest toilet was for him to make a quick escape in case the medicine would cease to have effect unexpectedly. Basically, his derriere was either on fire or totally glued down for few hours after each tablet.

Indonesia04Me, meanwhile, I chose a different content for my well being: drinking pure Aloe Vera gel every morning on an empty stomach, followed by garlic supplements. Without the less aromatic consequences of consuming loads of fresh garlic, I made sure I could still benefit from the boost to my immune system by this powerful antioxidant; while allowing the Aloe to do its bit in fighting inflammations, help boosting the immune system and improve the function of and the general condition of the gut. Which meant no desperate need to make a run for it unexpectedly, too.

And no matter how crazy you may be about the local variety of fruits and fresh vegetables, some days you may just not feel you could take one more bite of the dragon fruit. And the weather is so damn hot that while you know you need nutrition, you cannot make yourself eat anything heavy. Or, you may have wandered so far off the beaten path that any half-decent feeding establishment may not be within your reach and having a welcoming dish from a warm smiling local is not an option. Either ways, in such cases a major savior is the protein cocktail: it can be mixed with anything, from simple water to coconut water or milk or soy milk, almond milk, rice milk, etc. I am carrying one package of this powder with me in my small backpack when traveling and it have come handy more than once.

Indonesia croppedHowever, regardless of how well prepared you are and how careful you are, at some point during your trip you are bound to relax and go with the flow. Which may bring also less pleasant consequences, like a nasty sunburn. So, a quick remedy as I also found out from all the massage and beauty salons that are populating the touristic side of Bali coasts, is the same magical Aloe Vera: this time in its topical format. IMG_1949

Besides it anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, the Aloe topical gel soothes and calms irritation. It should be part of your first-aid kit and you should apply it generously both on bruised skin due to more rough activities or on sunburns as nasty as mine. Pack some and you won’t regret it!

Have a fantastic trip and make loads of memories!

My travel tips to staying fabulous from the outside

There will be a time and a place that will ask for something more of a fabulous from the outside.

Either a romantic dining experience with your significant other, or maybe a night out with the handsome stranger you met on the water rafting group. Or the gorgeous brunette you are so dying to impress. Or just one beautiful evening or more formal afternoon cocktails event you agreed to attend. Either ways, you better be prepared.

dressWhich means for the gals to always pack along for the trip a nice dress – basic and versatile one, from a fabric that doesn’t require ironing. And that can be easily accessorized with the necklace you just bought the other day from the local crafts & art market. Your own version of the famous little black dress. When choosing the right dress, be mindful not only of how good you look in it, but also of the local customs & social norms of the place you will be wearing it – e.g. you may want to stick to a less revealing model if you plan to travel to the less touristic parts of a Muslim or Hindu territory or state.

And, for the men, you’d be surprised to discover that many of the more respectable restaurants and clubs do not do shorts & sandals, no matter how good scruffy looks may be on you. Pack along for the trip a pair of light espadrilles and you will thank me later.

Have a fantastic trip and make loads of memories!

Pack your bags – vacation started!

Finally, vacation season is starting!!!

Destinations more or less exotic are waiting and alluring us from TV and computer screens or from the windows of the traveling agencies.

However, picking the right destination and securing your lucky ticket to temporary paradise is only the first step.

Your entire trip experience is very much dependent on your smart packing skills.

Whether this is your first trip or your hundredth trip, it’s always helpful to have a rundown of what items you may want to pack so you have a travel checklist.

And, to save you the trouble of going through tens and hundreds of such lists, we reviewed many of them and wiped together the mother of all lists for you.

Step 1: Collect Important Travel Documents, Cash, and Credit Cards

Think about including the following documents:

  • Passport/visa(s)
  • Personal ID, including a student ID card if you have one
  • Frequent flyer card(s) and other loyalty program cards such as a hotel or hostel
  • Cash (multicurrency also) and credit card(s)
  • Health insurance cards/document(s)
  • Travel insurance info
  • Reservations and itineraries
  • Hotel and/or tour contact information
  • Transportation tickets (plane, train, bus, car, etc.)
  • Emergency contacts and important addresses

It’s always a good idea to double-check your passports and IDs aren’t expired. You’ll also might want to inform your bank if you’re traveling abroad so they don’t assume fraudulent activity and freeze your card.

Useful tip: email yourself a copy of your passport, driver’s license, medical cards and itinerary, so if anything happens to them you’ll be able to access them online.

Trust me: it is all worth the bother. And while are at the safety tips, make sure the place you’ll be staying at has a safety deposit in the room or at the reception and place your valuables in there, including your travel documents and carry with you copies of it plus your driving license. It was THE one thing that saved my otherwise fabulous vacation in Vietnam from ending in a total disaster after my purse was snatched from me by a skilled rider on a motorcycle during a leisurely tour around Ho Chi Min city on the motorbikes with my friends.

Step 2: Prepare Carry-On Bag

The next thing you’ll want to do is prepare your personal item carry-on bag with anything you’ll want with you on the flight. It’s always a good idea to make sure you have an outfit (or two) and a few essential toiletries in your personal item just in case your luggage is lost. If you’ll be travelling with kids remember to take something that will keep them entertained, otherwise the never ending story of “Are we there yet?” will not only keep you entertained, but also all co-passengers.

Step 3: Organize Your Stuff

When you have many different types of activities making sure that you have all you need and at the same time don’t book a shipment container to have enough space for your stuff can be a challenge. Having options doesn’t necessarily mean you need to over-pack. Just pack smart. Include clothing that can be worn on your adventures and then dressed up slightly with a different pair of shoes and a scarf.

Here are items you don’t want to forget:

  • Lightweight clothing that can be layered
  • Shirts
  • Pants and/or shorts
  • Socks
  • Sweaters
  • Jacket
  • T-shirts
  • Belt
  • Sleepwear
  • Underwear
  • Sunglasses
  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • A swimsuit or swim trunks

Step 4: Pack Your Toiletry Bag

If you’re carrying on, keep your toiletry bag light and TSA-compliant. The TSA’s rule is easy to remember: liquids, gels, aerosols, creams, and pastes must be 100ml or less per container and they must be in a 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag. Having checked luggage gives you more packing freedom, of course

The Toiletry Bag Basics

  • Toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, mouthwash
  • Hair brush or comb, hair ties, bobby pins
  • Deodorant
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Sunscreen
  • Make up
  • Face wash and/or makeup remover wipes Moisturizer
  • Lotion
  • Lip balm
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Personal hygiene items
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Extra contacts, solution, and case

Most of wives believes that they are responsible for her husband’s packing  by default. If you are one of them then probably this part of the list will also have the mandatory 2 in 1 shower gel, “his” tooth paste & toothbrush and the deodorant. And, sometimes, a shaving kit.

Step 5: Pack Your Day Bag

A lightweight, versatile day bag can be used in a variety of ways and help you stay comfortable and prepared.

Hallelujah! You are done with your packing! If you want to take it to the next level and pack like a pro, here are some packing hacks you can use.

Last, but not least:

Step 6: Prepare Your Home

  • Arrange care of pets and plants
  • Arrange regular mailbox emptying
  • Pre-pay bills
  • Prearrange school absences for children
  • Empty refrigerator
  • Unplug appliances
  • Turn down water heater
  • Turn off washing machine taps
  • Lock all doors and windows
  • Set up timed light system if possible
  • Store valuables in a safe place
  • Leave house key and trip itinerary with a trusted friend or relative
  • Reconfirm/check-in online with airline

Use our Travel Checklist.

Have a fantastic trip and make loads of memories!

Children are our forever superstars

We always give them our love; still, somehow around special occasions like Christmas or summer vacation they get more spoiled than ever.

Summer vacation is the time to reconnect and relax with family, to recreate favourite childhood memories and make new ones together. Do you see your family lying on a beach or around a resort pool, hiking mountain trails, learning history from a national park ranger, exploring a new city, being thrilled by an exotic adventure or a daring new theme park ride?

Here are some of the things that we also try for starting our children’s healthy summer habits that don’t necessarily mean going bankrupted over the summer.

Limit mobile phone, TV and computer time. Especially when the beautiful weather outside means there is absolutely no reason why the children should not be out there.

Estonia04Plan a time with them to get out of the house for walks, trips to the park or other physical activities. Baltics have an abundance of state parks that are outstanding options for fitness activities for families. From parks with tracks for the very energetic ones like the Tarzan Park in Sigulda, Latvia, to the ones who enjoy a more leisurely rest. Find a park close by and get going.  The picture here is from our last summer trip to Saaremaa in Estonia.

Consider extending the amount of time you and your child spend being active each day. Fitness experts say children need at least 60 minutes of physical activity each day. Walk or ride bikes together. Play badminton or beach football together. Trying simple games such as racing, jumping rope, skipping, or playing tag or hide-and-seek will get you and your kids moving together, and remind yourself how much fun playing can be. Especially when there are no other kids around to play with and your little one suffers from being lonely, you could try into their play mate for a while.

trees1Walking and moving freely is the very first adventure in children’s life. Give them the freedom to roam unrestricted within the safe territory you set, even climbing trees if they fancy so. They learn to master the movement through long practice and with patience, but also with bruises and other small injuries. They cannot be avoided, but Aloe First makes sure that your little baby’s skin recovers quickly and regenerates after each bruise. It’s been a saviour for me from tending to small bruises to brushing unruly and entangled hair.

All cloths and sports equipment deserve equal attention. How else can they be ready for tomorrow’s adventures your little hero will take them on? This highly concentrated formula often only takes a few drops to get the job done. Besides clean clothes, MDP X2 is also very kind to your children’s skin, without any potentially damaging chemicals.

Healthy habits are particularly important in the summer months, when kids are out of school. Their days are less structured, and they’re more likely to eat junk food.

Eating dinner together as a family is one thing many of us will always remember dearly from our childhood. Have your child help with dinner or make a healthy menu that you prepare. Use healthier cooking options such as roasting or steaming instead of frying. Add one new vegetable each week. Limit foods and drinks high in calories and sugar. Provide easy access to fruits instead. No day should pass without fresh fruits and veggies should be your mantra.

Consider rewarding your kids for making healthy choices by giving them treats such as stickers, badges, or a picture book or coloring book instead of sweets.

And a drink of FOREVER ALOE BITS N’PEACHES can only help in boosting immune system resistance so that the little hero can roam unrestricted. And besides the multitude of benefits that Aloe gel has, the addition of peaches provides carotenoids – valuable as antioxidants and a source of vitamin A. My elder one has her own ritual every morning to ensure a good start of the day.

And when the child comes running into your arms and hugs you tight, you want to see their bright eyes and their beautiful heart melting smile.

pagina-161Aloe Vera has long been treasured for its quality and versatility – including dental care. My child’s teeth gleam with Forever Bright®, free from fluoride and one of the best tooth gels on the market. Years of research, development and collaboration with scholars and dentists have provided Forever Living with the optimum Aloe-based formula for effective cleaning. Your entire family will love the flavour and the clean mouth-feel, too.

Regardless of your summer plans, in our Forever family children have the chance to a harmonious development, staying healthy and protected thanks to our products, so that they can enjoy most cherished moments childhood holds.

I am Crista and I am dream fluid.

Some have big clear crisp dreams they go after. Some tell themselves that happiness is wanting what you already have until they convince themselves that settling is bliss. And pretend to have found the garden of ZEN on the way to drop the waste to the bin.

And then are the ones who fail to do that. To settle. But they also fail to chase any dreams, big or small. They just are not cut to make it happen.

And then there are people like me – refusing to lock all their hopes and energy in one stone-curved dream.

And not because I am not an ambitious or hard working individual. I am both.

But because life taught me that dreams and ambitions are at best situational. My Everest I was climbing and conquering during my early professional years is very different from my Everest during the years when my relationship hit the bottom. And a lot more different again when we managed to put that mountain behind us and we struggled for many years to get to the baby no. 2.

And then I thought for a few short weeks that I had it all. FINALLY. Only to learn that my Everest was still ahead of me and we had a long and painstaking battle with our baby’s health at stake.

So, you see, depending on the circumstances, my mountain had a different definition. That is what makes it situational.

Many think that our dreams are what defines us. For me, it is not our dreams, it is our relentless commitment to climb our own version of the Everest. Understand that while nobody else will do it in our place, it is OK to accept help and encouragement on the way. It is OK to stop to catch your breath. It is OK to live a little in the process.

And it is OK if while you are on your journey, you lift your head and gaze up only to realize you are no longer climbing your mountain and you need to refocus.

It is OK. And don’t let others bully you into a snap answer to a snap question: what are your dreams?

I am Crista and I am dream fluid.

I embarked on a journey of exploring options that’ll give me the strength of superman boosted by the energy of the catwoman and the patience and wisdom of a Yoda.
